What Happened:
25It's Christopher Priest's 2nd issue and the revealing Chapter X continues...

We start off with DP still trapped in the snot tube by some unknown scientist. Death also resides in her own snot tube near DP. Deapool is starting to get slightly ticked off and wants out. Then it's flashback time again.

Set not long after Deadpool's weapon X project experience, the flashback follows Deadpool thru his first encounter with a classic 'hero' in his merc carreer. During this flashback Deadpool works for the Hobgoblin before being enlisted by the Wizard to become one of his "frightful four" along with the Taskmaster and Constrictor. The Wizards devious plan is to capture Franklin Richards and trap the Fantastic Four. The plan goes mostly to plan, but the Thing catches Wade unawares and he bugs out. End flashback.

During the flashback recitation, Deadpool has managed to somehow free himself and smartly avails himself of the scientist's neck, threatening much violence and revenge....

25b Comment:
I liked this issue, it wasn't as gimmicky as the last issue and had some very funny moments alongside more meaningful and introspective moments.

Good Points: While this issue wasn't the same as a Joe Kelly issue, it was quite good. Priest has a different style, which is expected and great. This issue has lots going for it, mainly it was very amusing. The flashback story with some of Deadpool's early outings as a merc were classic!

Priest also manages to delve into the Deadpool psyche a bit, as Deadpool reveals he always thought of himself as the hero of his own story and didn't realise he was a villain until he came up against a hero. This was pretty cool and fits with who Deadpool is.

Bad Points: Not much. The snot man thing doesn't really have that much mileage with me though. I hope there isn't any more snot references next issue. I was also hoping to find out a bit more about Deadpool's current situation and the mysterious scientist who has him trapped this issue, but that didn't really happen.

Rating:

Very entertaining, with plenty of memorable moments.
